Reception Long Term Plan 2023/24
Autumn 1 | Which bread from around the world do we like the most? Children will explore a range of breads and make preferences on which they like. They will learn that food can be made up of different parts. They will express their likes and dislikes and represent this data and interpret this. Using this information, the children will make sandwiches based on their preferences. Project outcomes:

Autumn 2 | Technology - Why do animals use shelters? A shelter for a small world animal ensuring that it fits a design brief:

Spring 1 | Engineering Design and make a boat for the Gingerbread Man or animals in the Zodiac Story to cross a river safely. |
Spring 2 | Art Create an art gallery of art created by shapes, dots and lines. |
Summer 1 | Science Observational drawings of plants in different stages of growth accompanied by the child’s annotations explaining changes over time. |
Summer 2 | Performance Art A graduation ceremony to celebrate the end of Reception
