Down on the farm

This half term, Reception children in Elephant and Giraffe Class had a very exciting day out to Godstone Farm.

Our activities involved stroking and talking about small animals such as guinea pigs, hedgehogs, rabbits, chickens, and a tortoise.  We learnt that a baby guinea pig was called a pup and that the tortoise shell was made of the same material as our hair and nails! We fed the very hungry pigs and saw some very cute little piglets too. Then we went pond dipping and looked at the creatures we had caught such as a blood worm and water snail. After lunch, we played in the soft play and the outdoor area too!

We all had a fantastic day and were feeling very tired by the end.
