End of Season Round Up

Over the last two weeks the school football team have been very busy playing their final three games of the season - losing 5-2 to St. John’s, 6-1 to RAA and 4-2 to Merstham.

We did very well in each of the games and did extremely well to score five goals in those three games. Across the season, I have been so proud of the children; they have shown all of the values from courage, cooperation, resilience and responsibility. Not one child gave up in any game; they all played together as a team; and they predominately played against Year 6 children – which is a tough feat to ask! Quite often in life we learn more from the losses than the wins and that is definitely the case here.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the children who have represented the school this year in the football team and for those who came to the training sessions every week on Football Friday. There has been a real togetherness about the group of children even when children haven’t been selected to play they have still taken the time to wish the team and myself good luck before any match – this speaks volumes to me about the values that we have instilled in the children here at Lime Tree.
