PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) is a planned programme of learning through which children and young people acquire the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to manage their lives – now and in the future. To ensure all areas of our PSHE curriculum are covered in each year group, we will be teaching this area of learning using ‘The Jigsaw Approach’ which is a comprehensive and completely original PSHE Education programme for the whole primary school from Foundation to Year 6. Jigsaw has two aims for all children: To build their capacity for learning and to equip them for life. For further information on what will be covered, Please click on the attachments.
Please note: All Jigsaw lessons are delivered in an age and stage appropriate way so that they meet children’s needs. Life cycles, Puberty and how babies are made and grow are treated sensitively and are designed to meet children’s needs.
How can I find out more information about Jigsaw? The best thing to do is to talk to your child’s class teacher or you can also visit the Jigsaw website where each year group content is outlined - www.jigsawpshe.com.
